Barbacoa Steakhouse

Barbacoa stands apart from the suburban steakhouses we’ve designed since 1997. Our client and chef envisioned creating the city’s top fire-charcoal grill steakhouse, emphasizing premium ingredients and expert preparation. Uniquely located in a warehouse bay 20 minutes west of Edmonton, this off-the-beaten-path venue attracted crowds within weeks of opening.

The design centers around an open-fire kitchen visible from all dining areas, complemented by a medium-sized wine and cocktail bar. The space is divided into a relaxed lounge and a casual steakhouse, offering varied atmospheres. The two-story layout incorporates wood, metal, and dark tones to maintain a warm, inviting feel that supports both dining and beverage service. We also collaborated on branding to ensure a cohesive identity across the interior and marketing.
